Dr. Ripley received his undergraduate degree from Marshall University. He attended West Virginia University and completed the two year medical program there and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Ripley had on the job training in the United States Army. He began his practice in 1959 and retired in 1999. He was a Fellow of the Academy of Family Practice.

After serving the healthcare needs of people of Huntington for 40 years he could not put down his stethoscope. Dr. Ripley began volunteering at Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Inc. in December, 2000. He has seen hundreds of uninsured patients down through the years. For many years he was our diabetic specialist. Patients who had uncontrolled diabetes were sent to him. He not only helped develop the diabetic education class for our patients he also taught the class for awhile. Nancy Doll, Clinic Coordinator says of Dr. Ripley, “His patients and the staff respect and adore him. Dr. Ripley is an all around fun person to have in the clinic. He shares such wonderful stories from his past medical experiences. It wouldn’t be the same without him here.” Dr. Ripley is a great resource for our nurse practitioners as a collaborating physician. Dr. Ripley not only cares about the medical needs of our patients, but also their needs as individuals. He remembered our patients during the Holidays with food baskets from his church.
